Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

At the end of a unit about colour theory, students from class 3B worked in groups focusing on colour words in the English idioms. Each group was assigned a different colour with a list of the meanings usually associated with it (e.g. red means, passion, violence and is used to give people a boost of energy, blue is for calm and relax, etc. ) . After reading and discussing the colour features they started to search for common idioms and expressions including colour words. Some colours had plenty of them others had less but at the end all groups had prepared a list to show the rest of the class (red tape, yellow brick road, white elephant, once in a blue moon, etc.) The final moment was turning words into pictures, idioms into drawings.
